What kind of equipment (camera body, lens, filters, flash, tripod, cleaning equipment other) do you use?

I use a Canon 5d Mark III, 16-35 mm for architecture shots, 135 mm for portrait shots and a 24-105 mm for general purpose carry-on lens. I also use a Manfrotto tripod and Lee filters Big stopper for long exposure shots.

What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specially your camera, and how would you improve it?

I like everything about the camera, especially the low-light capability and the perfect focus the camera achieves. If I plan on an upgrade, I would like the 1DX.

What is your favourite lens, and why?

135 mm is my favorite lens, the bokeh it gives is just wonderful.

When you travel, what is in your essential photographic kit bag?

When I travel, I have my camera, a wide-angle lens and the 135 mm lens. I sometimes carry the 24-105 mm f4.0L for longer trips as this is a good kit lens that serves well in cities.

What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?

I use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration? How do you take your pictures?

I have been taking photographs since I was 16 years old. I started off with a point and shoot Olympus camera and when I met my husband, he had a Canon 400D which I then started using. I find inspiration in the simple things of life, nature and most recently from Pinterest 😉

Which style of photography do you like the most, and why?

I like portrait photography the most, I tend to implement some European flavor into most of my shots given my Russian origin. Portrait photography provides an opportunity to portray an individual’s personality, however it also is so versatile that you can manipulate an image with your creativity (and photoshop) to show the viewer what you wish to show.

What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?

I am working towards developing myself into a destination Wedding photographer. I have just started on this path and I assume that when I get to photograph at least 25 weddings an year around the World then I can safely assume that I have reached my goal.

Looking at your own work, which piece is your favourite? Why? Please provide a link to the picture.

I work as a team with my husband, and both of us like fake tilt-shift photography. This is essentially taking a normal photo and converting it into miniature versions. Here is a link to one that is our favorite, my personal favorite is from portrait photography of Alexa a model that I recently photographed.

Does your work fit into any one or more distinct genres (nature, landscape, long-exposure, black-and-white, infra-red, urban, artistic, macro, vintage, vernacular, social, street)? If other, please specify.

A problem that arose by teaming up with my husband is that we are not anymore limited to one particular genre of photography. We specialize in portrait, wedding, maternity, nature, landscape, long-exposure and tilt-shift photography.

Are there any photography websites that you visit regularly?
